Department Head (m/f/d) Configuration Management

Your tasks/Your duties

  • Organizational and functional management and control of all activities of the department with the aim of optimizing performance and ensuring business success
  • Professional and disciplinary leadership and motivation of employees
  • Preparation of departmental planning in coordination with the division manager and support of the division manager in the operational and strategic planning of the division
  • Operationalization of the divisional strategy in the form of departmental and employee goals and measures
  • Constant optimization and further development of the internal organization in technical, personnel and structural terms
  • Responsibility for the budget and costs of the department (if cost centre exists) and responsibility for the preparation of proposals for personnel and budget-planning
  • Planning and allocation of resources and budgets to relevant projects and activities
  • Further development of department-specific research and development competence in the company
  • Observation of science and competition for early recognition of trends and derivation of appropriate measures
    Specific:
    • Ensuring the operative configuration management including master data management and technical change management
    • Continuous process improvement including the development of supporting software solutions together with the IT
    • Contact person and escalation level for the cross-departmental configuration and change management process

Your qualifications

  • Degree in engineering sciences
  • Knowledge in design and implementation of configuration management processes (e.g. requirements management, development artifact management, change process, validation management, record management, etc.), implementation of configuration management in various industries, leading of project groups, definition of methods in the context of product lifecycle management (e.g. variant management, naming/numbering, etc.), preparation of IT system specifications
  • CM2 Professional (Configuration Management 2)
  • Managerial and international experience as well as relevant work experience is mandatory
  • Good German and English skills
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office package
  • Configuration management according to CM2 and ISO 10007
  • Basics of project management
  • Result- and goal-oriented approach
  • Strong personal initiative and hands-on mentality
  • Communication skills, persuasiveness and enthusiasm, moderation techniques
  • High quality awareness and pursuit of long-term solutions and strategies
